Lakshmi TheatreVijay's Pokkiri has successfully completed a 126 day run at Lakshmi theatre, Chennai. Theatre Owner Mr. Srikanth B.E., and the distributors who were involved in the shifting of release, M/s Chocolate Company Journalist Mr.T.N. Ravanan and his Son Prabhu T.R. Ramprasad (Kalaipoonga Combines) decided to celebrate the function in grand style.

When we contacted the theatre Owner Mr. Srikanth about the event organized and vijay in pokkiri celebrationsthe reason behind for this event, he was pleased to infom us that it was a big record that Pokkiri has achieved by running for this many days after releasing for a second time. Normally a film gets a huge opening on its release date and it keeps running till its success. But here the case is different. After the 95th day of Pokkiri, we bought the distribution rights for this film from VV creations, Chennai for a re-release. "Re-release" means a film which gets released in theatres after its worldwide release, or to clearly explain it, a Second Release. In past 15 yrs, this has not happened to any other movies. Now, history has been rewritten by Ilayathalapathy VIJAY’s Pokkiri which went on to collect huge revenues when we released this movie in our theatre and now after 126 days, it is the only movie which has earned profits to its distributors after its re-release.

Vijay was Welcomed in grand style to the function with Loads of Crackers and vijay in pokkiri celebrationsApplause from fans inside the theatre and a big crowd outside the theatre and all murmuring Dr. Vijay... Vijay told that my movie has created a good run at Lakshmi theatre after a re-release. I’m happy to hear this. All are saying that I’m coming to Lakshmi theatre for first time, I cannot forget the Amnijikarai area, because my friend Manoj used to stay in this place, and I frequently used to visit this area. While I was studying, I came to this theatre with my friends to ANNAMALAI movie and enjoyed the movie in this theatre. Fans asked Vijay where he sat in the theatre, and hevijay in pokkiri celebrations replied "there in the left corner" in his usual style. He also thanked the Theatre Technicians and workers for their support. He also requested his fans not to call him as Dr. Vijay, because he wants his fans to just call him "Ilayathalapathy Vijay"

S.A. Chandrasekar sir spoke "I am not able to talk much because I’m so immersed in the happiness of my son getting the doctorate; I am speechless today and I’m happy for Vijay and his fans". S.A.Chandrasekar sir along with Vijay handed over gifts to the theatre management people and workers on behalf of the successof Pokkiri after its re-release.

Rama Narayanan, president of Tamil Film Chamber said that Vijay will soon reach the position of Dr.MGR, and he also wished him to come up in future with more success.

Kalaipuli G.Sekaran, Film Distributors president, conveyed that more people in this world after gaining such a big position tend to change, but Vijay remains the same as he was before, and his simplicity is what makes him big.

It’s a great feeling to attend a function like Pokkiri which makes all the investors to gain again even after shifting (2nd Release) release, it has created such a big record. I am happy to be here and to have taken part in this function.
