It has been a ride marked with joyous celebration. One of the most celebrated films of 2007 'Pokkiri' starring Tamil Cinema's "Ilayathalapathy" Vijay and directed by the dancing sensation Prabudeva has successfully reached 200 days of uninterrupted running in cinema halls across Tamil Nadu.

In these days of video piracy and in an era where the producers release their films in maximum number of prints to ensure maximum returns in the opening week, its truly an achievement for a film to successfully run for more than 100 days. Yet, Pokkiri has entertained not only the fans of Vijay, but also various other audience and truly deserves the recent achievement of becoming the first film of 2007 to celebrate a 200th day run. The movie recently celebrated its 175th day run in grand fashion with Dr. Kamalhaasan and veteran director K Balachander presiding over the function and awarding the whole team of Pokkiri for their performances

The movie had been declared a worldwide blockbuster and has filled the coffers of the producer and the distributors with its amazing run. The movie, a remake of the super-hit Telugu version with the same name, is now being remade in Hindi with the title 'Wanted Dead or Alive' with Salman Khan playing the lead role and with Prabudeva repeating the job that he successfully did for the Tamil version.

We thank Vijay, Prabudeva and the whole team of Pokkiri for providing us with wholesome entertainment and we wish to see more of such entertainers from the team in the near future.
