After getting the 'Youth Icon' award in Coimbatore, Vijay visited Madurai and Arupukottai. The Madurai distributor of Pokkiri, Mr. Anbucheliyan arranged the distribution of cows for the poor and the needy. It was all done on the behalf of Pokkiri's mega success.

The function was held at Cine Priya Theatres in Madurai. It was witnessed by loads of fans who gathered at the venue in full flow to have a glimpse of their favorite hero. The function went off very smoothly. When it was Vijay's turn to speak, he said 

"I am very happy to involved in this welfare act, because donating cows is a very divine act, and I am very happy to be a part of this function. When Anbucheliyan spoke to me, he said that he was my fan first and then a distributor. Mr. Anbucheliyan has organised this function in the same way that my Rasigar Mandram would organize a function.

Always, Madurai is a place which is very close to my heart. He thanked all the persons behind the huge success of Pokkiri. He also said that he was very much surprised by the success of Pokkiri and that he did not know what to do in the aftermath of Pokkiri's success"

Vijay at Arupukottai

He then visited Arupukottai where his fans had arranged a function to celebrate the success of Pokkiri. A huge gathering of people welcomed Vijay with huge festivities. The function here also went off really well. The main attraction of the function were that the welfare clubs arranged the donation of lands to the poor and the needy. Mr Senthil Kumar, the Rasigar Mandram thalaivar of Arupukottai city, organized this welfare function. Land was donated to 32 people in Arupukottai. Also, sewing machines were handed over to the people.

The school students of Arupukottai, who were fans of Vijay, asked Vijay various questions. Vijay answered all questions with his usual grace.

Vijay spoke at Arupukottai "When you think of Rasigar Mandrams, you think about erecting banners, etc. But the way they are organizing functions like this for donating land to the people, gives me immense satisfacton. All the hard work that we put in, we will definitely reap the right results.

Vijay thanked & wished everyone at Arupukottai and ended his speech.
